Malcolm came to us as an owner surrender.  He had a very rough start to life.  His original owner passed away in a chair in the home.  Malcolm was by his side when his family found him.  Fortunately, Malcolm was taken in by the deceased's mother.  He lived with her for about 6 years until she also passed.   Her husband recently had his legs amputated so he was unable to care for Malcolm.  The family contacted Paws Up Pet Rescue to help find him a forever home.   Malcolm had some baggage of his own and needed a quiet home with no small children and preferable no other pets.  Fortunately, Lori stepped up to foster him, knowing he may be a difficult dog to adopt out.  Malcolm didnt like the vet, but needed routine work done and it was discovered that he had some serious health issues going on, including a tumor which was on his side.  This tumor was causing seizures for Malcolm which hurt Lori every time he went through it.  PUPR provided the best vet care and homecare we could for Malcolm during the short 6 months he was with our rescue.  The seizures became more frequent and Malcolm was becoming more stressed due to the pain.  Lori, his foster felt it was time he cross the Rainbow bridge so his pain would subside.  Malcolm was a bright light for Lori the foster who filled her heart after losing her own dog.  She was able to give Malcolm what he needed - love and hugs which he hadnt had in long time and he gave Lori the hugs and love to fill the void from her past dog.  Everything happens for a reason and we were glad that Malcolm happened to Paws Up Pet Rescue.  Run Free Malcolm!
