MEET Rhett. Rhett has been in search of a home for ONE YEAR ALREADY!!!

Rhett is three years old. He is a staffordshire terrier mix. He is neutered and up to date on vaccinations. When he was saved by the rescue he tested positive for heartworms. He was treated down south and came up north to WI when he was done with his treatment and tested negative.

Rhett is looking for the following things in a home:

a soft dog bed to lay his head on and roll over for his favorite thing, which is a good belly rub.

a nice sized yard either fully six-foot fenced or out in the country.

a daily walk. He is very good on a harness.

kids age 10 or older (due to his size).

no cats, small animals or farm animals.

he is good with other dogs of medium to large size and loves to play. The rescue thinks he would prefer to have a home all to his own but have play dates.

LOVES CAR RIDES!

He is,

three years old so he is past that tough puppy stage.

very polite, treat motivated and takes treats very gentle.

not high energy and would make a good slow pace runner companion.

crate trained.

potty trained.

better on a harness than just a collar for walks.

eager to learn and knows basic commands like sit, shake, wait and watch me.

healthy, no known health conditions.

GREAT in public and loves to meet people of all ages.

scared of a hose so he prefers his baths by getting water poured on him not sprayed on him.

Rhett is a great listener and has so much potential. He would love to go to obedience classes; he is a CGC and beyond candidate.

We could see Rhett just chilling on the porch and enjoying time in the sun with you.

He has been hanging at a kennel because no one wants him. This costs the rescue a lot of money and times are really tough for them.

And more importantly, who will at least foster this big 70 lb., full of love guy?? I will help with his transition which I don’t think will be hard.

He needs a home; he is loved at the kennel so much but he really needs a home.
