Meet the Flower Puppies! These sweeties were born in a shelter in AL when their mom was saved from a kill shelter. Mom- Sunny-will be available soon. The puppies will arrive mid August and be ready for a home

Basil had an exam and they found an intestinal hernia.  That seems to be an easy surgical fix, but then he stopped eating.  So, before surgery, they did another exam and noticed a heart murmur and then Basil stopped eating.  The vet described it as - Basil needed to choose between eating or breathing.... he choose to breathe.  So, he was sent home with special food to help him eat, and then come back for surgery.  The surgery was 07/28 and went well. We all prayed really hard that his heart could withstand the surgery and it did!!! The hernia is fixed and he was eating at the vet.  He will come home today 07/29 and we will get a better prognosis on him.  Basil right now loves to be held and rocked.  He loves to give and take kisses!  He isnt afraid of a bigger calm lab in the foster home. We are hoping this surgery will enable him to become more playful and back to a normal puppy. 

Basil is doing so much better! He is growing, playing and eating well. Its like the surgery never happened!  Basil will travel to WI 09/19 and is ready for a home! He is in the puppy stages so he does need some strong toys to help his chewing and training to redirect his biting - but all those things can be taught and worked with.
