PUPDATE 08/07/2019 - Petie was neutered today and did great!  The vet said he is growing and doing all of the things a puppy should do!  He is acting normally but we know that he will have a shortened life  with the congestive heart failure. He could live 6 months or 6 years.. we dont know. As he grows he may develop a need for medication, but as a rescue we want a family that will ensure he has the best quality of life while he is here.  His adoption fee is reduced to $250 as he is a special needs pup. If you are interested in learning more about him, please contact Paws UP Pet Rescue!

PUPDATE 07/22/2019 :  I went to the vet on July 19 and I am diagnosed with Aortic Stenosis.. which means that the aortic heart valve is narrowed.  It is herediary and more common in certain breeds.  The aortic valve is the valve through which blood leaves the heart, traveling to the rest of the body.  When this valve is narrowed, the heart (and specifically the left ventricle, which is the chamber that pumps blood through the aorta) must work harder to force blood through the valve.  This additional work can have harmful effects on the heart leadng to muscle failure and other complications.  This is hereditary.  This is a great article about it:

I can still live a normal life but may get tired quicker.  The rescue is going to talk to a specialist to see if I can have surgery for my neuter and if there are medications that can help with my disease.  I am still a playful puppy, but I do sleep alot more than normal puppies. Please check back for more information about me!

UPDATE 06/30/2019!  We have arrived in WI on 06/30/19 and after a long trip I am in a foster home and doing very well. !  I love other dogs and cats - so another animal to live with would be really nice!  I am working on my potty training and obedience, but I would love to do it in a forever home!  The vet did say that I have a heart murmur so I will have to check back next week with another vet to see if I need more tests done. Overall, I am a very happy boy that acts like a normal puppy!  If you are interested in meeting me, please fill out an application at the link below!
