HI! I am Polar a sweet American Eskimo that is in need of a forever home!  

My story is a bit unique in that I was found as a stray in China.  A group of dog rescuers were trying to save other dogs from the Meat Trade and I started following one of the rescuers home!  So - it was just my luck that there was room for me to travel to America!  

I have been in the US since November 2018.  I have been in a foster home in the Sheboygan WI area since I arrived and boy do I like it here!  I am a very good boy - my foster mom says so!  I live with other dogs and cats, but I will chase a younger cat.  I am ok with older, more relaxed cats.  I am good with other dogs. I have a little bit of resource guarding with food - but only with dogs, not people.  I am fine if I eat in a separate area from other dogs.  I love, love, love chew toys!  I am a strong chewer and need lots of chew toys around!   I would do best with a fenced yard as I am super fast and like to run! I walk pretty good on a leash, but I will pull a little bit, so it is getting better.  I have LOTS of energy!  I need a family that is going to walk with me and allow me to run or take me places that I can get exercise - because if I dont have enough exercise, I can get into mischief!!  I love to snuggle and sleep with my foster mom in her bed.  Boy, do I like that!  I am also a great passenger in the car and enjoy going for car rides!    I have not been around small children. When I first arrived I was a bit snappy with them, but it could have been due to my 13 hours of travel to the US and then a car ride from Chicago and of course, jet lag.  I have not been around them since.  I was around older children at the PUPR March Muttness event in March 2019 and did OK with them!  I am housebroken, but I don't tell you when I have to go out.  I live with other dogs and just go out with them.. so another dog to help me tell the signs would be best !
